These are solid pedals. I use them for mountain biking on rocky New England trails and they have already gotten a lot of abuse. I think one of the reflectors has already fallen off after hitting a rock and I don't expect the others to last very long but the reflectors are the only part that is plastic the rest is solid aluminum and holds up well. I typically ride in sneakers and these grip my feet well.;
