I didn't buy this to be used as a bashring. I wanted a high quality guard to keep my pants out of the way of the chainring and this does that perfectly while looking really good on my bike. The finish is excellent and so is the machining.

Now, if you're looking for a true BASH ring you better look elsewhere. This is a really light peice and would never hold up to repeated harsh impacts.;
