In this day of Covid related shortages on pretty much everything but especially recreational stuff I was delivered a high end recumbent trike that was supposed to have all Shimano components. The bar end shifters were Microshift. I experienced ghost shifting and just plain sloppy clanky noisy shifting from day #1. After 3 attempts by my bike shop to adjust the cable length to address the issue I decided to do a search for Shimano shifters to match my other components. I found these on Amazon only a couple left. Ordered them and had my bike shop install them. Night and day they shift smoothly and quietly and ghost shifting is gone. I don't know how many times I've heard the claim that some brand X is made to be compatible only to discover not so much. Nothing like the real thing!;

Easy to install on my Gunnar Crosshairs which I transformed into a more upright ride.
Shifts like butter so far on the stand. No road test yet in Wisconsin :-( but there is no reason they would shift any differently.
Deducted one star because it is very difficult to shift from indexed mode to friction mode. Had to use a pair of pliers. Hoping I don't need to do this much as I fear the internal plastic ring could break.;

In an age of automation and over-complicated machinery the ol’ bar end shifter gets it done.;

I use them all - Microshift Sram and Sunrace - and the Shimano shifters have the smoothest feel and are the easiest to set up for precise shifting. Their weak point can be durability seems to be vary.;

Great replacement for friction stem shifters;
