It worked exactly as it was supposed to on my vintage Sugino bottom bracket. I had to gently nudge the bracket with a hammer but the Park Tool is heavyweight and took the hammering without problems (or even dents as far as I could tell). I have to admit Park Tool. Makes the best stuff even if they are high priced. The spanning. Pins also fit my Sugino BB perfectly (and this was a French threaded BB). I don't always need a Park Tool but am grateful that they exist when I do.;
