KMC X11 Chain - 11-Speed, 118 Links, Silver/Black

I think it is useful to people purchasing this chain to know that YOU NEED A SPECIAL TOOL TO INSTALL the master link! Great chain - but hopefully I can save you the frustration that I went through in installing. The master link does not just slip into place. You need master link plyers! Or some other similar tool.

I have been using KMC chains on my mtb’s for a decade. Good product with good durability. I clean and oil prior to every ride and chain last usually a couple of seasons. I check chain gap monthly to note when to replace. With doing that my drive train usually last me the life of the bike which is 4 years when i replace with newer.;

Was a little concerned when I first put it on my 2021 Trek Emonda SL6 with Ultegra components. As it was on my stand it made a horribly loud grinding like noise. My old chain has given me no issues. Never slipped a gear and shifted as smooth as butter. But with 4000+ miles on it figured it was time to get a new one to help ensure I didn’t mess my drive train up. Once I got the bike off the stand and took it around the block all noise issues were gone. Have put about 250 miles on it since changing and bike shifts just as good as it did before. Chain was easy to install and costs about half the price as local bike shop charged me to change my chain previously during a “free” first tune up on another bike;

I just ordered this to replace the one that came with my Cannondale Topstone. $35/year for a chain is a great value!;
