I replaced a Grip shift 9spd shifter with these and they indexed very well with the Shimano mech on my tandem. I am not a fan of either Grip shift or Rapid fire shifters.;

I put a Soma Oxford handlebar on my Long Haul Trucker and replaced the bar-end shifters with these mounted forward of the brake levers. I planned to use the friction mode for the rear (right) lever but the index mode works so well I haven't even tried the friction mode. Crisp clean shifts on both levers. Seem very durable but I only have about 500 miles on them. Handsome things.;

The shifters work flawlessly when setup in index mode. The finish of the metal on the clamps isnt the best but function is perfect.;
