With the Ritchey Classic C220 Stem you really can have it all. Easy to install and remove thanks to a press-fit handlebar clamp interface and forward-facing hardware. The C220 handlebar clamp design creates a more secure interface by wrapping a full 220 degrees over the handlebar. Bolt forces are aligned with the clamp so that the stem body embraces the handlebar, which is less prone to damaging lightweight bars. This clamp design allows for a lighter faceplate and stem body with no sacrifice in strength or stiffness.
  • Coated chromoly hardware
  • Stem body is forged 2014 aluminum for weight reduction
  • C220 with forward facing bolt design for easy installation

This stem is a little work of art. Using a proper small (Wera A5) torque wrench purchased here at Amazon I had no issues safely torqueing down the bolts.

Some reviewers have noted they had difficulty fitting the bars in thanks to the clamp design. Its actually easy if you think it thru a bit. Put them in from the side where the diameter is less than 31.8. then carefully slide the bar over until its centered. Attach the fixing plate and bolt them in. The clamp design means the bars will never just fall off when you set them in place. Very handy.

Don't blame the marks visible on the handlebars on the Ritchey stem. These bars have been installed on many bikes over the years and thats the result of bolting all sorts of displays and stuff onto them in the past.;

Nice looking polished look. The past-center split makes assembling the handlebars a little easier because they don't fall out. The angle of the screws looks nice too. Graphics are subtle but detract a bit. Don't like that I can see the knurled part of my bars in the middle and would prefer no openings.;
