Got this as a dropper post lock if the dropper post failed.....checked out it grips the post ok and it does...
Not had to use in anger. Also the biggest plus point is the fact that it's hinged which will mean lots less faffing to fit.;

If you've ever had to cut a ride short and limped home on a fully collapsed saddle you know it's no fun. After the second time it happened to me I got this part for my emergency kit. It will hold the saddle up so I can finish my ride without feeling like I'm stuck on a BMX bike.;
