Shimano discontinued the high end un55 square tapers in favor of this junk. Lasts me about 2k miles before I need a new one. The un55 I got 3-4 years ago with almost 10k miles or more is still smooth as the day I got it. :(

The sealed bearing bottom bracket is satisfactory in every way so far. ItÔøΩs not possible to rate it on durability until sufficient time passes. The bearing is smooth and easy to install with the proper tools. At less than $20 I would buy again if this one lasts one year commuting (4500 miles).

I ordered the 68X110mm bottom bracket. The unit is marked as being 110mm. When I measured the bottom bracket from end to end with my digital calipers it measured 111.73mm. That's nearly 2mm over the specified size of 110mm. When I stood them up side to side with the original 110mm bb the new one is definitely longer. Why is that?
