I upgraded my gen 1 di2 with some new parts it was a very easy upgrade.;

Bought this for a Canyon Endurace that sadly only came with the 3-port junction box. Works flawlessly so far. Make sure to connect the junction box to your PC and update the firmware once you get it.

Additionally I recommend *not* using the given built-in mount and instead purchasing something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Fouriers-Battery-Adapter-Shimano-Junction/dp/B07718PLMZ . The built-in mount is kind of flimsy and an external mount not only looks cleaner but also frees up your stem for other accessories.;

It’s a necessary part especially if you don’t have a handlebar that allows the end junction box. It is easy to install and works well to charge the system and program/adjust the shifting. I did not like the adjustable strap to mount it and instead purchased the K-Edge mount to install it directly below the stem.;
