I think the 50 works better for me than the 52 even though you lose the gears going down hill. This replaced the original SRAM Red cranks. One of the carbon fiber crank arms snapped clean off while I was riding on a small hill. SRAM stated I overused the cranks and would not warranty it after 2 years. I ride about 80 miles a week on road. The cranks broke a little past 2 years after buying the bike brand new. I put about 8000 miles on it. That’s why I purchased the Rival 22. It’s probably stronger and more reliable than the carbon fiber Reds.;
