I was pleased to find that this derailuer was available. It's a direct replacement for the old one. It installed easily was fairly simple to set up and adjust and got me up and running for my commute to work again. The only reason for the 4 star rating is that I had to replace it in the first place.;

I had to replace my old derailleur on my bike and I choose this one because it is easy to adjust the screws;

The same one was on my other kid's bike and it just works so I bought the same to upgrade my other kid's walmart bike that shifts awful.

I just bought an index hanger plate from my local bike shop to use with this derailleur.

It's a Shimano even though it is just a lower model it just works.;

I commute 12 miles daily put 600 miles on a Walmart bike my chain and derailleur exploded as expected. I purchased this tight on money and received something different looking. My bike is all black with very little chrome and that's what drew me to this but I recieved one with a chrome cage. I didn't realise this until after the install so it will stay.

Now on installation. I've adjusted derailleurs but this was my first install. As far as I can tell this is a 7 speed derailleur. I set the indexing screws to clear the entire crank set. Spin the peddles and shift down perfect. Shifts up perfect until 1st gear and refuses to shift at my triggers. Oh well its a spare bike now plan on getting better equipment down the road anyways.;
