Schwalbe PickUp Performance Super Defense 26x2.35 Clincher Wire 65 Black/Black 11159260

This tire is marketed as a cargo bike tire but really it can also be a super-durable street tire for any bike that needs to be dependable on a daily basis. I am a regular user of the Schwalbe Marathon Plus which is essentially a flatproof tire and the newer Pickup achieves the same level of reliability via multiple layers of thick tire casing. This results in an unquestionably heavy tire but its also super strong. My 250 lb self needs a sturdier tire that can operate at at higher pressures to in turn deliver low rolling resistance (I inflate to 60 psi and the tire is rated for 65). The Pickup delivers a tire that can do that. Also versus the full size 26x2.0 Marathon Plus the 26x2.35 Pickup is rated for a higher load capacity.

I built the pictured mountain bike as a relatively short range urban assault vehicle and its pair of Pickups shine in this capacity. On smooth pavement like you have at the Grand Canyon the ride is downright silky smooth at 60 psi. My mid tail cargo bike - that repeatedly sees a 400 lb-plus total system weight with a full load - will wear them when it wears out its current shoes.;

I can coast a long way with these on the flats with 60 psi in them pulling a 62 pound dog.
