For $50, you can’t go wrong with this pedal. I picked these up for my MTB to get a little more grip while riding trails. I ride in Vans shoes and really like the combination.

I’m a fairly noobie rider, so I learned pretty quick a few lessons, the most important being, KEEP YOUR HEELS DOWN. I hit a jump, caught more air than I intended, pulled one of my legs up, and the pedal slammed into my shin. There was a lot of blood, but it was totally my fault.

No regrets buying these pedals. Huge improvement from my stock pedals and look forward to some more riding.;

I only used eight of the pins for each side of the pedals and have not had any problems with slippage or aligning my shoe in the same place repeatedly. I am not into riding trails that are too technical, but the shoes (5.10 Trailcross, size 46) that I use with these pedals - the shoes really stick to the pedals. The pedals also look good on my MTB (Santa Cruz).;

Only used these on the street, but can tell they will be fantas'stick' on the trail...feet aren't going anywhere. Thanks for the advice, Holt Tucker, owner of Open Road Bicycles, Jacksonville, FL!;

These pedals are a fantastic and relatively inexpensive upgrade. I rode the cheap pedals that came on my mountain bike for 6 months and found my feet would lose grip over fast, bumpy terrain. And there's nothing worse than hitting a bump on a flow trail, and then looking like an idiot searching for your pedal as you're going downhill, watching your Strava PR slip away from you.

I was amazed my first ride with these pedals. With regular shoes on, my feed gripped the pedals so well, I could wiggle my heel and make my foot slide. To reposition my foot on the pedal, I have to actually pick it up and place it back down, whereas with my old pedals, I could just slide my foot around.

Stop thinking about buying these and just do it. You won't be disappointed. I also went with the name brand over the popular knock offs on here because, hey, Raceface designed them, so they should get the sale.;
