I bought these to replace my hybrid's Shimano Tourney flat bar shifter/brake combos because I did not like the wide flat bars that were installed from the factory. To me this hybrid just felt like a road bike with flat bars and and lower gearing and would do well with some drops. I cut the bars shorter added some bolt on drops and installed these ST-A070's along with some tektro in-line levers on the flat part of the bar for slower going traffic situations. The installation was easy I had issues setting up my front derailleur but I believe it was due to the new cables stretching and my own goodballishness. (I didn't use the cables they were included with these I bought orange jagwire)
Also I believe these are meant to be used with mini-V brakes or something because the brakes are nowhere near as powerful as they were with the original set up but I actually like it they are more forgiving to me and having to do an emergency stop won't send me flying over the bars into orbit. I really love the way these feel it's a comfortable position to keep my hands in predominantly. My bike feels racier and I have more confidence riding after modifying it.

It's a good product and I would recommend them to anyone looking to add something like these to their bike as long as it is already using Shimano since I'm not sure if they would work with a different manufacturers stuff.

Only complaint I really have is that there are no indications on the shifter of what gear you are in it's just an orange pointer. It works and I started getting used to it but it's still goofy. The ones I replaced had numbers printed on them;

They were a lot easier to install than expected. Great value for the money.;

The new breaks/shifters look and work great. Easy to install. Good value for the money and comfort.

Thanks!;

Installed on a homemade gravel bike made from a 26" mountain bike. I wanted a set of shifters that were cheap and would work with the existing cassette on that old mountain bike.

These were more expensive than I think they should be. They do come with the shifters and cables though the brake cables were too short and there wasn't enough brake cable housing. Like others noted they don't provide enough end caps or ferules. Expect to buy a spare set of brake cables and housings if you are using on a disc brake frame or if your bike has a lot of cable housing between the lever and the brake. They really short you on the brake cables.

Shifting is alright. Setting up the front derailleur takes some trial and error and compatibility with front derailleurs is spotty. My biggest complaint is with the brakes. The lever moves way too far before they engage the pads so I've had to adjust the pads so they are nearly scrubbing the rotor. I'm using these with road disc brake calipers btw.

I do wish I'd spent a bit more and gone with Claris but given the availability of bicycle parts right now that wasn't really an option.

They are alright. They will work if you are trying to use a 7-speed system. But you won't be impressed and you'll probably replace them with better shifters soon.;

Story time: So every bike shop in town told me it was impossible to take my Raleigh Cadent 1 and upgrade to drops and speed shifters like these without changing all my derailleurs as well. They were wrong.

I threw these on tightened the tension on the cables and have absolutely ZERO issues. These work perfectly with my Shimano Tourney front derailleur and Shimano Altus back derailleur. I didn't even install the tension dials like you're supposed to (oops) and everything works fantastically.

Quick shifting smooth braking. Very happy with this upgrade.

My only gripe and I mean ONLY gripe is that the shifter cables come out of the inner sides of the hoods which makes the cables look a little goofy. Wish they fed through the bottom of the hoods instead.;
