Kryptonite Incite X6 Rechargeable Headlight - Black

As the days are getting shorter our night rides on the trails call for decent illumination. I’ve been attracted to StVZO regulation headlights as I no longer want to be part of the problem where my headlights will blind oncoming riders. I chose this Incite X6 as it was pretty much a real StVZO light being a rebranded Trelock (of Germany) headlight.
I decided to take the plunge and pay the $79.95 to get my hands on this.
There were a couple things that really went wrong and soured the whole experience up to this point of writing.
Strike one: I opted for 1-day shipping submitted on a Monday which led to the package arriving on Saturday.
Strike two: Once I picked up the lovely Amazon package from my local Amazon hub I found the Kryptonite headlight package itself beat up and damaged- to my dismay. The lens was scratched and the body of the headlamp was badly scuffed. Someone drop kicked this light before sending it it seems.
Strike three: This headlight is damaged and underperforms. I tried my best to give it the benefit of the doubt- a fighting chance. The headlight mount swivel set screw does not tighten (stripped threads?) and I had to hold the headlight steady while traveling in the dark. 60 lux is insufficient for road bike riding at night and the beam pattern is too narrow. It almost is a tunnel vision light because side illumination is poor.
In summary I love the idea. The better light may be the Incite X8 but the price is too steep- the cost of doing the right thing and being considerate of other’s eyes is not beneficial to my wallet. With a big sad- I’m going to return this.;
