I am between sizes for standard bike frames. I opted for the larger frame. The handle bars were too far forward and cause me discomfort in my back. I looked at a lot of stems and was tempted to buy the swivel style. This stem provided the very smallest dimension that the swivels could not provide because of the extra joint. This stem brought the handlebars closer to my seat and corrected my back problems. It is built solid and has given me no mechanical issues after a full year. Installed it myself without difficulty.;
