After several hundred miles of tweaking and refining my road bike to maximize comfort I realized that my setup was less than ideal. I am 5'11" 174 lbs. I realized that I was over stretching myself to hit the drops. Over time my lower back began aching severely. After doing some reading I decided to shorten my stem to this 60mm job. Dropping from a 110. My reach is less strained when I took it for a spin post install. Nothing long distance yet as the weather is less than cooperative. The item was a perfect fit to my setup and looks really good. I would have liked it in white to match my frame but I made this purchase for comfort. I have read reviews that say this item is 'heavy'. I don't find that to be the case. As it is much lighter than my 110 and sturdier for sure. At the moment I am satisfied. For riders that find over stretching to be an issue give this "cheaper" solution a try.;

I went to one of those big bike stores when I purchased my first road bike and didn't find out that it didn't fit me properly until a couple of years later. The top tube is to long for me and I was stretched out to far. The easiest/cheapest solution I could think of was to get a shorter stem. This has worked perfectly. I went from a 100mm to this 60mm stem at the same angle. I have no issues with steering and the only difference is how much more comfortable I am. The stem itself isn't anything special and probably a little on the heavy side but it does what I need it to do. I guess time will tell if it holds up but I've taken it over some pretty short and rough rides and it's held up. It does say on the packaging that it is for recerational use only and not for racing or competition. I'm not sure how to process that but since I'm in neither of the excluded categories I guess I will be alright.;
