Stupid RaceFace and their proprietary tools. This is a slightly different size than the Shimano equivalent. it is 100% necessary if you want to remove your threaded raceface brand bottom bracket. Works as intended;

you gotta have it to install that new bottom bracket you ordered. does what its supposed to but would prefer a socket in hindsight;

Seems every tool made for dub 24 and raceface 12 point is made out of aluminum. I am not a smart man....but aluminum sockets and 40-50nm is not the best of ideas. I would rather mar my BB than have a single use tool made out of aluminum. This tool is made out of steel and just works.;

This is a great tool for removing a bottom bracket especially on a hard tail MTB. However if you have a full suspension you may find there isn't sufficient room on the non drive side to use the tool due to interference with the suspension. Also do not use this tool to torque down the BB if you are trying to get in the 35 to 40 foot pounds range. The tool will maul the BB shell because it is too difficult to hold it steady while trying to apply torque. Best to use the socket style BB tool for torque application.;
