I installed the 2.5 Maxxis Grifter on. 2017 Fuji Nevada to replace the 2.2s it came with and it makes it look like a fun bike to ride. Haven’t taken it out due to weather will update once I take it for a ride.;

Ho voluto mettere questi copertoni da strada sulla mia MTB in quanto percorro solo asfalto.
Allora sono molto scorrevoli e silenziosissimi però calcolare che sono da strada quindi addio sterrato ... Diciamo che sono consigliati per chi fa solo ed esclusivamente asfalto.;

Once mounted these tires are very smooth-riding on pavement. A serious upgrade from my Maxxis Minions for pavement riding.

I tend to ride smoothly paved and wood surfaces at places like pump tracks and Ray’s Indoor Mountain bike Park in Cleveland Ohio.

However with loose gravel these tires pick up gravel and fling it up at your downtube. Be prepared for some paint chips to be created in your downtube’s paint.

Additionally when trying to mount the tires on my Motobecane Taz 3’s wheels the bead of the tire was extremely stiff and made mounting the tire very difficult. I had to use two tire levers and a wood working clamp to keep the part of the bead already mounted inside the rim as I worked the remaining bead over the rim. For reference my rims have a 36 millimeter inside diameter which will make mounting non-foldable tires (like these) more difficult because this is a wider rim than the classic rim widths that have been around for decades.;

I built a spare wheelset with these street tires to swap out on my mountain bike so I could ride to work without tearing up my knobby tires. I’m glad I bought these. They work great. One thing to note is that I couldn’t get them mounted on my rims by myself. The bead has a steel wire that I fought and struggled with while mounting. I’m not a bike mechanic so there may be tricks and tips to make it easy. I don’t know any tricks and I gave up trying after an hour or two of failing. I took my wheels and tires to a bike shop to get them mounted best 10 bucks I ever spent. Overall I’m super happy with the new “road bike” setup for my mountain bike. I would buy these tires again…and take them immediately to the bike shop to get them mounted.;
