Used these tires years back and decided to give them a shot again when someone gave me a very lightweight older mountain bike. They’re as fast as I remember. Back then I even raced a criterium with
these just to compare them with 700c sew ups. Clearly not as fast and they didn’t hold momentum like the sew ups but for a 350 gram tire they accelerated quick and were fun to ride. I prefer a more rugged belted tire for commuting but enjoy these very much for fun rides. So why do we all like 26”(559)? Because for shorter riders they solve a lot of problems for frame fit. My husband likes 26” for city blasting because they accelerate faster and with baggage they solve problems with frame clearance. We are disappointed the bike industry has chosen to try and phase out this great wheel size. I only hope these tires will continue to be available. Give a try if you’ve got an older mountain bike. Run the at 80 to 100 lbs psi if your rims are in good shape and you’ll have a great time. Recommended!!!!;
