The Byway Road Plus tire allows riders to find comfort on remote gravel roads without being slowed down on the pavement required to reach them. Staying true to its road usage, a slick centerline borders angular hatching to keep everything smooth on sections of pavement. Intermediate, diamond-shaped peaks provide steadfast traction under power, while consistent and more substantial knobs extend down the side to protect it against ill-intentioned rocks or gashes while exploring new areas.Lightweight 120tpi casing combined with SG2 puncture protection that made from ultra-thin nylon inserts to provide bead-to-bead coverage, ensuring no area is left unprotected. Road Plus TCS: Sealant optimized lightweight casing with folding TCS aramid bead and Dual Compound DNA rubber.

I have put about 30 miles on these tires and I find them to roll faster than my WTB riddlers on hard surfaces. I am using them for road tires but I plan to use them on trails as well.

I purchased these tires knowing that tire pressure checks were a must. As I ride the Levee in South Florida I'm used to checking my tire pressures before every ride. I will say I have seen a drop in 5-15 lbs of pressure between rides (every other day). They are also 38's not the claimed 40. That's the bad part.

Now the good. At 30lbs front 35lbs rear (I'm 205lbs) they roll extremely smooth and very very fast. Depending on your rate of speed and comfort there slight movement over loose gravel. I've put 50 miles on them so far. Will check back in about 200 miles.

Are they better than the other 38's I was using prior (and still have as backups) on the gravel not from a grip perspective. However the WTB's are more comfortable and faster on the smooth gravel and pavement. Good trade-off where I ride.;

I am rewriting this review after using the Byway Tires on the Gravel Tracks in South Florida know as the Levvee's in the Everglades for the last 2 months - First review I gave them 1 star !! However I have changed my mine - But the bad points are still the bad points - The good points outweigh the bad considerably

So first the bad bad bad points

Bought two of these !! Firstly they are really tricky to use tubeless I run tubeless you need a compressor or CO2 cartridge to get to inflate them the 1st time !! Second they leak from the side walls like crazy ! Literally they won’t hold air inside them for more than a few days !!

Now the Good

Once you get them inflated I used a CO2 Cartridge to get them on the rims and Stans Race Formula Goo inside ( 3-4 oz is needed ) These are the smoothest fastest tires I have ridden - I have travelled around 500 miles on them on gravel and road ! I would only ever buy this tire for my gravel bike !! They are 38mm not 40mm wide but they are better than any 40mm tire ! They do need regular love and attention by way of being pumped up before you ride but you can run them at 30 - 35 psi and they are AMAZINGLY SMOOTH and Iron out the bumps and lumps as you travel at 16 MPH plus on Gravel Tracks - 100% the best tire I have had !! I would recommend these tires to anyone riding hard pack gravel tracks

Finally would I buy them again

NO CHANCE EVER at this price they have to be better !!;
