100% Surpass Knee Guards - Black, Large Rubberized Ventilated Outer Skin

These are very good knee pads. Lots of protection and material that goes up past your knee and down your shin farther than most knee pads out there. They claim to have the CE lvl 2 crash rating which is amazing. The actual knee joint padding is great with the hard plastic on the outside. Then there is padding all around the knee in other places which is also rare and great. It has two straps top and bottom to hold them on really well. They seem like the best.

But... they are CRAZY overpriced for what they are. Sure they are one of the better knee pads I've tried or owned but for $145 you'd think you were getting Moto GP like protection and quality and these are not that. They have some question marks in their build. The seams the stitching the padding that is AROUND the knee is all questionable quality and seems like it wouldn't last that long once you start using the all the time. The velcro straps are just cheap bottom of the line straps. Sharp edges and thin. They would probably wear out quickly. And the padding around the knee that seems so great is actually low quality low density cheap foam like padding. So it really doesn't offer much in the way of serious protection.

And the fit is good but not great. They do fit based on your normal size you usually wear. I wear size L in almost all clothes and pads etc. And these fit great in that respect. They also have a pre-bend to them but as soon as you have your knees not bent/straightened out they feel weird and stiff and dig into your leg. It's not horrible but it's not ideal at all. And I've tried and own knee pads with pre-bends in them that actually still feel good. Not that you're wearing these for pedaling or trail riding. These are for DH or freeride only.

Overall these are good pads but... WAY over priced and not enough true protection for the price they are charging. If these were around 55-70 I'd say they would be really good and a 5 star pad. But the price is just ridiculous compared to the quality. These are almost double what I paid for my AMAZING ION K-pact Zip knee pads. And those are better in every way! Lower the price by half and 100% would have a great pad. But as it is can't recommend these at all.;
