Paul Component Engineering Thumbies Shifter Mounts, Shimano 22.2mm Silver

Bought a single awhile back when i converted an old TT frame with a bullhorn back into a 1x9 commuter. I'm always hesitant to leave reviews right after i get something because at that point all you can really say is "it looks like they say it'll look". But having rode the bike for awhile now I can say this a great deal. Picked up everything else on the build from swap meets so this is the most expensive item I have on the bike. That being said it far exceeds my expectations. Fits snugly on the bar cable never slips and after several years of leaving the bike outside in the elements every day it still works like a charm. With a flat top bullhorn bar (brakes in the ends like a traditional TT setup) the 31.8mm version mounts just inside the flat part of the bar; shifting with a thumb from this position is easy and precise every time.;

I wanted to change the configuration on my touring bike from a drop bar to the Jones H Bar. The reason for the change is more options for hand positions and comfort. Because of the change I needed to get "thumbie" shifters. I chose the Paul Thumbies because of the good reviews materials and quality. Once I received them I could tell that they will last for a long time and the quality is great. The installation was straight forward and did not take long. However I did take the opportunity to change all of the brake and shifter cables and housing since I also bought new brake levers. I really like the new setup and it it very comfortable and the shifting is very accurate..;
