This tool fits the six notch Shimano lock rings on my Schwinn Super Sport (1992) and my Diamond Back Avails perfectly. I know that they are "English" thread 1.37 X 24 cups and the word "Shimano" is stamped on each ring. I'm pretty sure it would fit other 6-notch locking rings of that era too but I don't have any to try it on.

It's really a well made solid tool with a comfortable handle and is way better than using pliers or a punch on the ring's notches.

This is the third "Pedro's" brand tool I have bought and they are all really good quality and great value. Their "plastic" tire levers are outstanding!;

The tool is well made but you are not able to tighten to proper torque specification. You will need to purchase the socket style in order to use a torque wrench. This is critical when installing bicycle components.;
