The Monarch's lightweight design not only delivers silky smooth travel, but thanks to a redesigned Solo Air spring with updated damping controls, it also delivers a spring rate you'd generally only get from a much heavier coil shock. So you get a durable, fully adjustable shock capable of smoothing out the most aggressive trails, while simultaneously saving you weight for epic cross country riding. The Monarch RT3 features external rebound and 3-Position compression adjustment (Open/Pedal/Lock).
  • Fast Black hard anodized, forged aluminum body with sag gradients
  • RT3 shocks feature external rebound and 3-Position compression adjustment (Open/Pedal/Lock), Solo Air lets you add air to your shock through a single Schrader valve, filling both the positive and negative air spring chambers simultaneously. This gives you a plush, predictable ride you can set up in seconds, with the lightest weight air spring on the market
  • 10mm 7075 aluminum shaft
  • Rapid Recovery allows the shock to recovery faster between consecutive bumps, letting the wheel track the ground with greater precision
  • Intended Use: XC, Trail
  • Autosag is a simple set-up feature available only on Specialized bicycles. This feature utilizes the rider's weight to set proper shock pressure
  • Frame specific hardware and/or washer(s) included with shock

Got this for a specialized 29er maybe (bought it used) a 2012. Fox Triad blew its guts through the selector switch and never did work that well anyway. This has a solid platform smooth stroke and has transformed this bike. Had to source a shorter M8 screw that attaches the end of the shock to the rear yoke and ordered a proper sleeve for the front eyelet as mentioned elsewhere.;

Replaced a triad that was cracked. Yoke type bottom mount at the bottom of the shock will fit out of the box. Top eyelet will need a model specific mounting equipment. Don't bother asking RockShox or Specialized what you need. I did both and both told me to ask the other company. To figure out which one you need measure the inside of the mounts on the frame. EX from mine: measure 16mm on inside x 8 mm inside diameter of holes bolt goes through. I bought "shock HDW 1/2" 8x16.0" fits perfectly!!;

All good except for the need for an additional screw or spacer!;

Perfect fit for my 2011 specialize stumpjumper 29 inch comp. Used to replace the “proprietary” Fox Triad II shock that originally can with the bike. Also need to purchase a 1/2” x 1/2” 8x16 bushing found here on Amazon.;
