I bought this because mine seemed to be leaking and fouling the brake pads. I found this really easy to install. It only took about an hour to remove and replace my rear brake system.;

I replaced my SRAM Guide RCS brakes with these Shimano Deors XT. Both are great brakes, but I prefer the instant grabbing power of the Shimano.;

The new lever design forces the SRAM NX shifter inward on the bar, making for a longer reach to shift gears.

The pad bite point of the lever stroke gets longer over several rides, very annoying like the SRAM Level brakes. I bought this to replace the SRAM parts! I like minimal lever movement before the pads engage and this moves to about half the lever stroke in 10 rides.
The older 8020 XT rear brake on my other fat bike does not have this issue. I read about this complaint before purchasing the 8120.;

What can I say, the 8120’s are just nice brakes! I had the 8020’s on my Santa Cruz Nomad and I liked them a lot but these brakes feel like I have more modulation. Faster times on my Strava too! These brakes rule! Big fan of the easy bleed of Shimano M-8120’s as well...;
