This freehub is a fraction of the cost of many other offerings but the quality is solid. There is no need for anything more expensive. I've had mine on for over a year with a communter bike summer and winter in Chicago. NO problems at all.;

It was missing a dust cover which should be included as you can’t remove the one you are replacing without damaging it;

Perfect fit on my 1995 Deore LX 8 speed;

I purchased this to convert an older Deore LX "Parallax" 7-speed hub to 8/9/10. I wasn't 100% certain it would fit but I bought it anyway. Fortunately it did. I can’t speak to the longevity yet but it appears to be the same fit and finish of most other Shimano freehub bodies I've seen. FYI it doesn’t come with any spacers dust caps bearings or axle parts. Just the assembled freehub body as shown in the photo.

Install process: I removed the axle and drive side bearings from the original freehub. I then removed the original freehub with a 10 mm Allen and installed this one using the same bolt. I replaced the bearings and the axle and used the original hub's dust cap.;

Simple bolt on/ bolt off affair. My freehub bearing were *shot* and growling like mad. This was a direct replacement for my Shimano-branded hubs.;
