Amazing gravel , was able to tweak the B screw and get a 11-46 cassette to work;

Solid gravel-specific derailleur. Previously was running an Ultegra RX mounted on a Wolf Tooth Roadlink DM on a SRAM 10-42 1x setup. I bought the GRX to use in conjunction with an extended cage by Garbaruk in order to boost my gear range with Garbaruk’s 10-50 cassette for 500% range on 1x. The mullet setup works great for bikepacking all terrain on a gravel bike in northern Michigan and I plan to take the GRX mullet rig on a self-supported trip bikepacking from Detroit to Duluth via Isle Royal next spring.

My only knock against the GRX would be that Shimano doesn’t make it very clear which GRX derailleur is for which use (1x,2x etc.). I did have to order this 812 model after mistakenly getting the 810 which is not recommended for 1x setups. I found this information after extensive digging on forums rather than in a readily available spot on this site or Shimano’s. So really just a gripe with descriptions of the components rather than the tech itself.;

My do-it-all bicycle now has one of these and an 11-40t cassette. I love it.;

The Shimano GRX is perfect for gravel bikes. The derailleur arrived perfect.;
