This gear is great for a 44/23 ratio set up on a motorized bike. The beach cruiser I put the motor on came with a 44/18 ratio. With this sprocket I'm able to take off from a stop so much more easily now! Very helpful especially in my hilly area.

As a comparison on the stock 18 it was very difficult to get going would probably top speed at 10mph if I really tried (and the chain didn't break from all the tension). With this 23 sprocket I can get up to about 8mph leisurely definitely enough to engage the motor.;

On advice from an impeccable source (JA at Sheldon Brown’s) I changed out the rear cog on my 60’s vintage SturmeyArcher 3 speed beach bike.
It needed a new chain anyway.
Hills and headwinds are no longer an issue.
You might consider doing likewise.;

My coaster brake beach cruiser came with 42/16 gearing.
I hated it.
I like to just slow cruise around my community but I stopped riding because of the pedal effort and wrong candence for my style not to mention hills and inclines were extremely hard on my knees.
My gearing is perfect now. The $10 I spent on this cog and a $10 longer chain made a tremendous improvement. Next mod will be adding a handbrake for the front wheel.
Totally worth the effort.;

Exactly what I needed and good quality I have ordered another one for a different bike. Makes beach cruisers able to climb hills or go into the wind.;
