The lower bars flare out and both positions are great for gravel rides.;

An excellent gravel bar. I bought the 46cm version - it's very comfortable for using on the single track and picking lines through rocky sections. I've ridden around 150 miles on them on road, gravel, bike paths, dirt trails, moderate single track and grass.

I thought I would dislike how the flare tilts the levers but it actually feels fine. I've tried a couple of friends' flared bars, but they felt cramped even compared to my normal-style compact road bars - it was like I had to hunch my shoulders and stick my elbows out. (For reference I rode 40/42cm bars, depending on which bike, and my friends' bars were either 40s or 41s). If you do go for flared bars, I would highly recommend going a little wider than your normal roadie bar, as this feels straight and natural for me (I went 42cm to 46cm). The drops are excellent, feels natural and intuitive to reach for the levers and squeezing the brakes.

Speaking of the drops - they're fairly shallow, and fairly wide, so that when you're in them you're capable of controlling the fine movememts of your front wheel and can move far forward without hitting your wrists on the curves of the tops.

On the topic of the vibrocore - I think it works, just a little. I know that when I ran my old bar (cannondale c3 in 42), the bumps and vibrations can transfer a certain sharp feeling to your hands; over time this really starts to hurt, even on big 700x35c tires. With the vibrocore that sharp edge is taken off - You'll still feel the bumps and a small bit of the vibrations, but it definitely feels like something about them is changed. For me this feels like a subtle smoothing. If I'm on the very ends of the bars (where it's around 60cm) I can feel the bar flex a little bit, and the vibrocore dampening really comes through there - it's almost the most comfortable spot on the bar.

The markings on the bar are great too, which makesles setting up your levers a breeze. Really nice and easy to install.

Overall very pleased with these bars, excellent product. Highly recommended if you're looking for an extra bit of comfort for your drop bar bike. Sure the vibrocore is subtle, but that's the point: combined with bigger comfy tires, compliant geometry, comfy bar tape good gloves, and it all adds up.;
