Looks good and is straight and round.

I have the first wheel built and will start the second one this week.;

I built these 700c rims up for my hybrid Greenway bike. I built them up as three cross on 36 hole rims with 14 strait gauge stainless spokes on Shimano 5700 hubs with Continental Grand Prix 4000 II 120 psi 25mm tires . I did my usual 35 mile morning ride and checked the rims. The were noticeably out of true which I guess was to be expected out of a newly built set of wheels. I re-trued them checked the spoke tension and the dish and remounted them to the bike. As I rode the Greenway the next morning my ears were met with a cacophony of pings twings and pops coming from the wheels. I stopped and checked to see if they were hitting on anything however they were still true. Spoke tension was to spec according to the Sun website and my Park spoke tension gauge. I determined that built up to spec with high quality hubs spokes and tires these rims need a higher than recommended spoke tension which did stop the "symphony" as I ride. They have been fine since however it's my suggestion that you will have to run the spoke tension somewhat higher than normal if you wish to ride in silence.;

The rim is reliable and inexpensive. Niagara Cycles is a weak link however. It takes them 2 weeks to even put the rim in a box. If you order everything at once you'll be sitting on your Prime hub and Wheelbuilder spokes for 9 days before you can start building a wheel.;

I was rebuilding a vintage Miyata CT7000 carbon fiber frame as an e-bike and looking for some light weight rims. These came in at 530 grams (equipped with eyelets). I built them up with  Sapim Laser Silver 2.0 Double Butted 14/17G spokes  and  Sapim Polyax Brass Nipples . I actually built two front rims ... one with a Bfang SWXU electric hub and the other with a standard hub. It only takes a few minutes to swap out the front wheel and remove battery if I want a 'Pedal' bike. The rear wheel was built with a  Sturmey Archer S30 3-Speed Internal Hub - 36h 18T Cog (no brake) .

I did have one nipple eyelet that popped out. I email Sun to request information on replacing the eyelet and they sent me a new wheel instead. EXCELLENT customer service.;

Excellent value fit and finish. Provided an economical way to replace a badly bent rim but lacing the spokes and truing the wheel is a real challenge for a first timer. Make sure to get new rim tape and a spoke wrench and at least a 6 pack to get you through.;
