My wife is about 5’6” 130 lb. The medium size knee pads were on the small side but they fit ok. I measured around her thigh to make sure they would fit according to the sizing chart.

Also got medium size elbow pads but they were way too big for her arms.;

The knee pads are comfortable to wear under regular jeans and some skinny jeans. Looser pants are more comfortable. The silicon band keeps them from slipping amazingly. Falling on them is the most bracing thing a skater of any sort could ask for. They do get hot so expect sweat if you are naturally a heavy sweater. I expected itch or chafing after wearing them at the skatepark for hours in blistering heat humidity and bright sun beaming but I remained pleasantly surprised.
