I had the option of these or the X01s. I was hesitant about carbon cranks on my downhill bike, and sure enough, the first time out I hit these on a rock while riding. Carbon is great, my whole bike is carbon, including seat post, seat, handle bars and frame. Wheels and cranks, I prefer aluminum, because they will bend and scratch instead of breaking. If on the fence about price and weight, these are 6oz heavier than the X01 carbon, but they cost one third of the price. Happy with purchase.;
