This is a decent affordable wheel. Unfortunately the rim strip (tape covering spokes inside the wheel to protect the inner tube) was not applied correctly on mine. It was folded which left an exposed sharp piece of metal. I went through 3x tubes all popping and leaving me stranded and having to walk my bike before figuring out that this wheel was the cause. So I'm rating three stars because it was a headache for me and I wish I went with a more expensive wheel. That said if you roll the dice and get a good one of these wheels with no issues its a great deal.;

These are cheap wheels. All of the parts individually are fine in and of themselves. But the assembly quality of a bicycle wheel really makes or breaks it. These are machine-built. But they are built poorly. I've bought several wheels made by Wheel Master. All of them have had issues. I buy them because they are cheap and I can fix them myself. They are cheaper than I can buy the individual parts and build them from scratch myself; which is why I buy them.
This one arrived with it a lot of lateral movement from side-to-side in several places. Spoke tension is pretty low. It's surprisingly concentrically round which is a lot better situation to be in.
Lateral truing can be done on the bike without needing a truing stand. But I'm going to put this on the stand anyway because it needs to be tensioned properly so it stays true once it gets ridden on. This wheel arrived so out of true that setting up the brakes would have been impossible. Is that unsafe? Yes. These could be so much better wheels if they would just build them better. Like I said the parts themselves are fine but the build quality really leaves a lot to be desired.
Would I recommend these? Probably not unless you're willing to do the work or pay someone to do it.
I'm giving it 3 stars because the parts are good but the build quality and truing nonsense really drops the rating. They are decently light and the Weinman ZAC-19 rim is actually a good rim. These also have a nice appearance. I like the black rim with the silver machined braking surface along with the black and silver rim label. It goes together the black spokes and silver nipples for a complete theme. I think the Shimano TX hubs are also good quality for this level. Straight gauge spokes and brass nipples are just industry standard pieces and nothing to write home about.;

After some spokes broke on the original rear wheel for my Giant Escape I bought this wheel as a replacement. I did have to take my old wheel and this new wheel to a bike shop to have the rear cassette swapped over since I don't have the correct tools at home. The new wheel is performing great and the bike rides and shifts like new again.;
